Questions
Common questions.
01 What kinds of clients does the firm represent?
Contractors, construction managers, sureties, owners and other construction-sector participants — domestic and transnational — on construction and infrastructure projects and disputes.
02 Where does Jerry Brodsky Legal work?
The firm is based in Miami, Florida and works across the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, on both domestic and cross-border matters.
03 In what languages can I work with the firm?
English, Spanish and Portuguese. Matters, contracts and hearings are handled directly in all three.
04 What is a dispute board, and when is one useful?
A permanent dispute board is a panel of one or three experienced neutrals appointed at the outset of a project and kept in place for its duration. Because the board already knows the job and the people, it can take up disagreements as they arise — often in weeks rather than years — and keep a disagreement from hardening into a claim that stops the work and harms the working relationships that are essential to project success.
05 Does the firm handle both dispute prevention and litigation?
Yes. Counsel spans the full life of a project — from contract drafting and negotiation, through dispute boards and mediation, to arbitration and litigation when a matter must be tried.
06 When should you contact Jerry?
As early as you can. The most valuable work often happens before a dispute is ever filed — but wherever a project stands, whether it is being structured, out for tender, mid-construction, or already in a dispute, there is a role for the right counsel.
